Autumn has come: where to spend the “velvet” season?
So the summer passed, most of us returned to our jobs and will now be jealous of those who “shine” their vacations only in September. After all, the “velvet” season is an ideal time for relaxation, both financially and from a medical point of view.
On the one hand, September is still summer, the sun is quite gentle, and the water at the resorts of the Black and Mediterranean Seas is warm. But in September there is no longer such sweltering heat as in August. Ultraviolet is less aggressive, so you can sunbathe even in the middle of the day. At this time of the year, there are fewer vacationers at resorts, fruits are getting cheaper, housing and hotel prices are much lower than during peak season in July-August. In general, the “velvet” season is a solid plus. It remains only to decide on a specific vacation spot.
Crimean resorts in the “velvet” season were popular in the XIX century. The famous doctor and enlightener Sergey Botkin so vividly described (and substantiated scientifically) all the benefits of a vacation in Crimea in the fall, that the whole elite of that time reached here. Ladies in expensive dresses, gentlemen in tailcoats and with monocles – all this is the history of the Crimea. Today, Crimean resorts can host tens of thousands of vacationers, and September is the best time to improve the cardiovascular system and upper respiratory tract. The breath of the mountains, fresh sea air and a huge number of parks will not leave indifferent any vacationer.
The Sea of Azov is famous for its sandy beaches. In early autumn, dry and fairly windy weather sets in Azov. Due to the shallow depths, the sea cools down rather quickly in September, and most likely it will not be possible to swim in it by the end of September. But the healing air of Azov is very useful for children, and the developed infrastructure will not let anyone get bored even in the fall.
Turkish resorts enjoy the well-deserved fame of relatively inexpensive and comfortable resorts. The coast of Turkey is washed by two seas: the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. In September, warm dry weather sets in all over the coastline, making it possible to forget that in our latitudes, autumn is already beginning to take over. The Turkish Mediterranean deserves special attention. Here, until the very last days of October, the sea remains warm, and the sun is gentle. The south of Turkey is protected by mountains, so in some resorts of this zone, even in early December, you can freely swim in the sea.
If in summer the average temperature in Egypt reaches 45 ° C, then in September it drops to 30–34 ° C, which are quite comfortable for residents of the middle zone. This is probably the best time to relax in Egypt. The Red Sea, the pyramids, excellent unobtrusive service – what else is needed for a full vacation? It is worth noting that the “cooling” in Egypt does not lead to a decrease, but to an increase in prices. It is worth noting that, unfortunately, there are currently no direct charters to the Egyptian resorts of the Red Sea.
The sandy beaches of Bulgaria in September are ready to accept everyone, but with the weather at this time of the year, it is quite possible and unlucky. Holidays in Bulgaria in the fall are like a lottery: warm, dry weather may set in, and small incessant rains may begin from the very first days of September. But the originality of this country, the hospitality of its inhabitants, delicious cuisine and very low prices allow you to fully relax in Bulgaria even in the fall.
Montenegro and Croatia
Another sea that I would like to visit is the Adriatic. Officially, the holiday season here lasts until the last days of October, but by the end of September light rains and cooling are possible. Therefore, for this region the words are quite justified: “the later on vacation – the further south.” However, the rich historical past and the mass of architectural monuments do not allow anyone to be bored here even in winter.
